EU insists that Spain suspends any new plans that do not respect the environment and that do not guarantee the right to the property.  This should help the Valencian Land Grab situation.

The Request commission of the European Parliament has approved east Wednesday by 23 votes to favor, 11 against and 1 abstention, a report that requests the suspension and the revision from all the new new city-planning plans in Spain that do not respect the environment and do not guarantee the right to the property.

All the administrations are responsible for starting up a model of untenable development.  The Eurocámara has threatened reprisals if the Spanish Authorities do not solve this and resolve their tardiness in actioning this request and giving answers to Brussels.

The Spanish hard line critics that the report chave tried to suppress part of these denunciations from Brussels and indeed has tried to amedn them.  The majority of these amendments was rejected because they did not count on the endorsement of their European colleagues, who supported the original text, elaborated by the green Member of the European Parliament Margrete Auken, and even hardened it.

The report still must be voted by the plenary session of the Eurocámara, that is predicted to be held next on the 26 of March. If it leaves ahead, it will be the third time that the European Parliament approves a report censuring the city-planning abuses in Spain and the Valencian Comunitat.

The Parliament denunciation is on the lines taht all the administrations, power stations, town and local authorities are all responsible for to have started up a model of untenable development, that has had gravest consequences; environmental, social and economic.  The critical report states in addition that the Spanish judicial authorities are not properly prepared in order to deal with the cases of city-planning abuses, they transact that them with too much slowness and that the sentences dictated in many of the cases cannot be executed so that they compensate the victims of such abuses. In order to fight against these problems, the Eurocámara asks that the Spanish authorities regulate all the legal figures that favor the speculation.
