The Valencia Life Network reports...The old financial system of autonomous financing has placed the Valencian Community in an alarming situation after 2007 seeing the autonomy falling to the rear of the amounts received from the central Government due to the inhabitants of the autonomy.
Now, the Economy Ministry has made public the information on 2008, and once again this shows prejudice against the Valencians, as the autonomy received over nine billion Euros, which represents a two billion Euro reduction over 2007.
The figures for 2008 show that the autonomy received 1,967 Euros per capita, when the Spanish average is 2,304, with only the Balearic Islands being worse off. As a result, the Government of Francisco Camps has calculated that Madrid owes six billion Euros to the Valencian autonomy in order to put things right, and according to Financial Conseller Gerardo Camps clearly confirm that the central Government made a considerable mistake and 2008 was the year that they denied that a financial crisis was imminent.
