The Valencia Life Network reports..

The delicate financial situation of Valencia Town Hall has obliged it to cut costs as much as possible, whilst at the same time increase income. 

As a result traffic fines now appear to be a major resource, and in the first six months of this year have imposed fines totaling 14.7 million Euros on drivers who double park, use the bus lane or drive over the speed limit. 

However, only 2.8 million Euros has been paid thus far.
