Companies in the gas, electricity and petroleum sector have revealed that the increase in Value Added Tax made on them in July will be entirely passed on to the consumer, as there is so little margin available to the reseller. As a result, the price of electricity will rise due to IVA that increases two percentage points to 18%, as will the price of Butane gas bottles and petrol.

Jose Luis Blanco of the Spanish Association of Liquid Gas Operators stated that his members are currently losing money as the commercialise Butane Gas.
