Valencia Port came alive again yesterday as masses of people responded to the invitation offered by Alinghi to visit their base, opening their doors at 10 a.m. and in the process scored a considerable public relations victory over rivals BMW Oracle Racing.

Those responsible for the Alinghi event stated that they were delighted with what had happened as at least twelve thousand people came to rake in the atmosphere of the Americas Cup and marvel at the trimaran that the Swiss had created for the event.

Meanwhile, BMW Oracle opened a souvenir shop, as the remainder of the base was largely deserted.

More details about activities near the Matches were announced yesterday, with free concerts next week featuring Valencian artists SedaJazz, Zenntric and Pollock.
