And BRITCHAT was there!!Rosa Diez, MP from the UPyD (Union, Progress and Democracy) party visited Valencia yesterday invited by “Club de Encuentro" Manuel Broseta and gave a speech in the Melia Palace Hotel, Valencia, under the title “The necessary alternative.”
Regarded by some as the new, emerging political figure in the Spanish scene and also an alternative to PSOE and PP, Rosa Diez talked about the importance of Spain as a nation-state, and its unity as such, regaining prerogatives for the State in front of regions. Union, Progress and Democracy (Unión Progreso y Democracia, UPD or officially UPyD) is a Spanish Political party founded in September 2007.
UPyD contested for the first time in an election for the 2008 general election, held on
9 March . It received 303,246 votes, or 1.2% of the national total and one seat in the “Congreso de Diputados” for party co-founder Rosa Díez, thus becoming the newest party with national representation in Spain.
