The New Fuencarral Shopping Centre opened yesterday in Valencia Spain

Bucking the financial trend, the new Fuencarral Shopping Centre opened yesterday in Valencia, with 70 stores covering some nineteen thousand square metres. In addition to the usual shops, there will also be cinemas, restaurants and  other activities that take place in the public areas such as fashion parades, DJ performances and special tattoo workshops.

It is reported that this is a new concept in shopping where you can relax, have a drink, visit an art gallery or buy whatever you like in some of the shops around this new market.

The main entrance has plenty of shops where you can buy many clothes of different styles. All the shops are very peculiar and it is catering for people who are looking for something which makes them feel different but at the same time fashionable.

On the lower floor there is a tatoo and piercing shop where you can go and have tatoos put onto your skin. Next to this shop there is an art gallery with the most fashionable artist at this moment in time and in front of this gallery there is a place where you can see Javier Ferrer art work . Next to this there is are other peculiar shops.

There is a shoe shop especially for people who walk a lot or who are standing up frequently.  The design came from Italy and was introduced in Valencia 3 years ago.

There are spaces where you can sit down and chat to your friends and relax.  You can have a drink and try the special beer, champagne and natural juices.

Mistic is the new shopping area for young people or people who are looking for something different. One of the most peculiar areas is the lounge where all the furniture can be purchased by the customers. This is a new concept of shopping in Valencia which has come accross from Madrid.

The upper floor is the area where you will get the biggest surprise.  It has different places to relax, chat, have a drink , eat delicatessen and where you can see an exhibition, art or a play.  There are large spaces here on a part of this floor which is separted with a different style of presentation. In one of them you can eat asian, mediterranea or new spanish food , have a drink or enjoy a cocktail or, just relax in one of the special areas with a comfortable atmosphere.

The other space is more lively and you can dance or have drink, or chat with friends or share a dinner. In front of these areas you will see a photography exhibition.

On the second floor you can enjoy a film in one of the 16 theatres.   This is a new concept in shopping for Valencia and the name is "Mercado Fuencarral".   At the present time there are shops for letting and so the whole area is not yet full.
