Perhaps Valencia will see the next Americas Cup

Valencia here we come?

It looks something like 95% certain that the next cup (a complete debacle so far) will be sailed in Valencia after all. The New York judge has just ruled that it can't be sailed in the Gulf so they have two choices: Valencia or somewhere in the southern hemisphere. Due to lots of factors and politics, the southern option is unlikely, so it's probably back to Valencia.

Scheduled for the best of 3 races on Feb 8th, 10th & 12th 2010. They are unlikely to complete three as one or the other will be fastest and there will be no catching them, so it will probably be 2-0 one way or the other.

Editor:  It was reported that the Mayoress of Valencia, Rita Barbera, has said that she wasn't sure that in February the weather will be 100%, but we shall have to see what the yaughting experts have to say!  Hopefully the court fiasco is nearing an end now.  To a none sailing person like me, the court cases seem to have been a very strange way of behaviing from sporting people and have been hard to understand.  So, we are hoping that John Crisp will continue to enlighten us as the drama unfolds some more.
