Another story from Valencia Life Network that affects the Valencia Community
Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero stated yesterday that he was inciting Partido Popular leader Mariano Rajoy to the Moncloa Palace in order to discuss a possible restructuring of the public debt of the country. However, he gave special emphasis to his proposal the Mr Rajoy have prior meetings withMadrid Mayor Alberto Ruiz Gallardon and Francisco Camps, the President of the Valencian Community in order to discuss the debts of both the City and the Autonomy. Commenting on this, Industry Conseller Vicente Rambla stated that the Prime Minister was only interested in the Valencian Community in order to undermine its prestige, and added that if the autonomy was in debt, the Socialists are in large part responsible for refusing to recognise the increase in population that should have resulted in an increase in Government aid of over six billion Euros. The Conseller added: The Valencian Community has never been supported by the Prime Minister in an effort to decrease the popularity of its leaders as they are from the opposition party. He also added that a prime example of this was a visit to Valencia by the Prime Minister during which he promised full financial support for the Americas Cup, but in reality this financial support only meant that the authorisation had been given for the autonomy to get more into debt, with no real financial support being sent at all. He also stated that the Prime Minister and his government was incapable of putting measures in place to do something about the current financial crisis, whilst also stating that Mr Camps had consistently demanded a meeting with the Prime Minister to discuss finance, but these requests had been ignored
