Lionel Blair confirms date in Torrevieja and Benidorm

He's 78-years young; a British actor, choreographer, tap dancer and television presenter. He's the one and only Lionel Blair, whom I caught up with this week in Edinburgh. Some may know him best for teaming up with Una Stubbs on the charade based TV show 'Give Us A Clue' or 'Nane That Tune' but over the last 61 years he has appeared on TV over 1,000 times, been a mainstay of the Royal Varity Shows and worked in films with the Beatles and Peter Sellers to name but a very few.

There are few entertainers pushing 80 who are still able to climb unaided up the stairs onto a stage never mind treading the boards both singing and dancing but Lionel Blair is an exception to the rule, as was clear for all to see as he appeared in not one but two shows, as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this week. Not content with performing as Sir Peter Teazle in a production of 'School for Scandal' he has his own one man show, 'Tap & Chat with Lionel Blair', where he sings a little, dances a little and tells stories about his life and the many famous names that he worked with from the world of entertainment.

Edinburgh finishes this weekend and one of his next engagements shall be in Torrevieja, where he shall be hosting 'Strictly Ballroom', a take on 'Strictly Come Dancing', which promises to have something for everyone in the family, no mater how many left feet you might have!

'Strictly Ballroom' shall be in Torrevieja's Municipal Theatre on September 25th and 26^th and the following night (27th) at the Benidorm Palace.

He's even alluded to the fact that we may even see him 'soft-shoe' his way around the stage saying "once a hoofer always a hoofer!" He may be pushing 80 but there is no indication of him slowing down. It's unusual for us to have the opportunity to witness one of the greats of British dance, TV and theatre, so grasp the opportunity while you can.
