Valencia City - More LARGE fines for noise polution.

Record fine of 4,400 euros issed for excess music noise in Valencia.

The City Council of Valencia has issued several penalties for excessive noise in the streets and premises in Valencia City. It has initiated proceedings against a neighbour for using the Car Stereo at dawn in the car in the street at high volume with the door open, which may constitute a serious violation of the municipal environmental pollution laws. According to the edict of the council, the events occurred on April 4 at 5:30 am in the Plaza del Conde de Carlet, where one man used the stereo in his vehicle at high volume and with the doors open.

 The penalties can be imposed range from a minimum fine of 600 to 12,000 euros, depending on whether it is considered the minimum level (between 600 Eurosand 4,400 Euros), medium grade (from 4,400.01 Euros to 8,200 Euros) and maximum (from 8,200 Euros to 12,000 Euros).

The central service of the sanctioning procedure of Valencia City Council finds that for such action made at night, to impose the penalty taken from the next higher band. You are granted a period of 15 days to make representations to the person concerned, and if not sorted out, then an order can be made for a resolution of the problem.

The City Council has also resolved to punish a neighbour in Avenue Blasco Ibanez with an 11,000 euro fine because his Hi Fi was exceeding the 14.4 decibel limits established in the Noise Act.  This constitutes a serious violation of municipal ordinance protection against environmental pollution. The case began in October 2008, because in this room he exceeded the noise limits set.

It has also initiated proceedings against a woman who was shouting and using musical equipment to a high volume and bothering her neighbours on April 19 at Calle Luis Lamarca. The council proposes to sanction her with 400 euros as this constituted a minor offense.

The City Council also proposes to punish a woman 100 Euros for using musical equipment at a high volume, annoying the neighbours, at 15.45 last April 20 in a house in la calle de Perfecto.  (Editors Note:  That street isn't perfect anymore!).
