Advance warning of the risk of suffocating heat and little rain this summer in Valencia

There will be two degrees more in average temperatures, which on the coast will be about 30 degrees, in the month of July, with the peak heat of up to four degrees warmer in August.

In addition, it will be a very dry summer, according to the Environmental Studies Center for the Mediterranean (CEAM), who on Wednesday presented the action plan against extreme temperatures.

In this regard, the executive director of the CEAM, Millán Millán explained that there will be very little rain falling in line with the trend of recent years.  The  norm before the summer were of storms once or twice a week.  At the present time they have been getting less and tending to concentrate in large torrential downpours near the coast.

The Minister of Health, Manuel Cervera, warned of the consequences of a heat stroke, which is a serious medical problem that occurs when the body is unable to regulate it's own temperature and causes dehydration, sunstroke, headache, fatigue ... In fact, last year there were 10 heat shock events, during which two workers were killed.

Therefore, this year to prevent new patients from seeking health care in  the special risk groups, which are children, the elderly and chronically ill, they are preparing in advance with warnings ......

It is especially important to drink plenty of fluids,  provide the body with minerals, avoid too much food and use appropriate clothing of fine texture and bright colours.
