Description:
Ryanair yesterday showed its interest in re-opening it's old operating base at Manises airport. The condition, once again, is that the Conselleria of Tourism gives a subsidy through an agreement that has to be subscribed to by the Valencian Autonomous Government with Tourespaña, the organ of the central Government, that arranges joint promotions with airline companies, tour operators and travel agencies.
Sources for the airline stated that an agreement between the parties involved could revoke their decision of closing the base that has contributed to the dramatic reduction of passengers that has been experienced by Manises airport during the last year. The airport lost 500,000 passengers in four months whereas the total volume of passengers for Ryanair has grown by 8% in Europe in the same period.
Ryanair is said to be hoping to that the Conselleria of Tourism summons them to a meeting and insisted that whatever investment that the Valencia Government makes in their company will be compensated fully through "Millions of Euros in tourist income that our passengers will disburse in Valencia”. In addition, they emphasized the great potential of the capital as a tourist destination.
