La Volta a Peu will be run today in Valencia City Centre.  The venue will be Paseo de la Alameda by the Turia. It will be the 27th edition of the race.

Last year (19th May 2008) they had 50,000 participants who filled the streets of Valencia with a multi-coloured tide of runners of all the ages and conditions. That day saw rain in the morning, sun in the afternoon and a spectacular storm in the evening.  This year the weather looks good, but will be hot for the runners. 

The race starts from Paseo de la Alameda and goes along the old Turia riverbed to Guillén de Castro.  It then heads off to La Plaza de España, the Gran Via Marques del Turia and back again to the old riverbed.  Last year, the male winning time was 23 minutes and 59 seconds and the female winner 29 minutes and 14 seconds.
