The minister of Health, Jiménez Trinidad, has confirmed that this is the second case of pig influenza in Spain, after a man was admitted to the university hospital of La Fe in Valencia. The infected person is a man of 24 years who traveled to Mexico along with another young person from Almansa who also has pig influenza. The young person from Albacete has responded well to his treatment.

The first case, the boy from Almansa (Albacete Province), was confirmed on Monday. The lad is responding well to the treatment. This case from Almansa was the first case in all of Europe. The World-wide Organisation of the Health (WHO) has elevated the alert level to a four, which means that there will be epidemiologist surveillance, since the level of contagion from person to person could indicate the beginning of a pandemic.
