Bull gores 12 year old boy in Montserrat Valencia

On Saturday a Bull broke through a cage used as hiding place by the crowd in Montserrat Valencia Spain and gored a 12 year old boy.

The organisers had already prohibited the access of the boy as he was so young, since it is prohibited to take part in bull runs under the age of 16.  However, the Father took him in the run area despite this and when the bull attacked a refuge cage it broke the bars and charged inside, showing no mercy when attacking this young boy.  At this point the bull gored the boy and as the Father was trying to get his boy out of the way, he was also grazed.

The boy was then taken to the General Hospital in Valencia where he was treated surgically for wounds in his leg which were not grave.  The father was also treated for minor grazes. As a mark of respect to the injured boy and his father the bull runs were suspended for that day.

The Police investigated and came to the conclusion that the Father was to blame as he took the boy through into the bull run area after the organisers had warned against it on two separate occasions. The boy was obviously a lot younger than the permitted age of 16.  In addition, the enclosure was full of posters warning that minors must not enter.

The same witnesses related yesterday that the event took place when the bull of about five hundred kilos in weight went up to the enclosure at a high speed and it was so powerful that then bars broke and as a result it was inside the cage with the several spectators which were inside, including this boy and his father.  As a result a horn tore into the boys leg and grazed the father.
