11 arrested for child pronography in 15 provinces incuding Valencia

11 arrested for child pornography in 15 provinces including Valencia. The Civil Guard, in an operation called "Evarista" has arrested 11 people.

The operation covered the following 15 provinces of Spain: Corunna, Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Cantabria, Huelva, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Huesca, Gran Canaria, Lugo, Madrid, Malaga, Majorca, Salamanca and Valencia.

The Guadia Civil (Civil Guard), in their operation in fifteen Spanish provinces, has arrested eleven people and has implicated a further twelve of a crime of possession, exhibition and distribution of infantile pornographic material through the internet. After the denunciation data against the people was obtained the Guardia Civil made their arrests this week. The investigations, directed by the Equipo de Investigación Tecnológica - "Edite" (The Technological Team) jointly with al equipo Mujer Menor - "Emume" (The Female Minors Team).  These two organisations of the Guardia Civil (Civil Guard) of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, began in June of 2008, when a person in Santa Cruz reported the existence of infantile pornographic archives, hidden among other things that was being downloaded.

House searches

A report from the Guardia Civil explains that after the denunciation last November, data from  the people involved was obtained and shared with the pedophile archives in co-ordination with the units of the Judicial Military Police from the fifteen affected provinces and the addresses of the people under investigation were located.

In this operation twenty-three house searches have been made, in which was the computers used to access the Internet for the downloading and distribution of this type of material resided. In the operation the Guardia Civil has captured much infantile pornography in diverse computer storage, on 35 computers, hard disks, memory sticks and CDs.
