Valencia City gets ready for the Christmas Lights

El Corte Inglis is prearing for it's lights and usaully has them all over their main buidling in Coln.

The lights will be switched on all over the city on the 1st December, which becomes home to a special exhibition of different types of crib.

The lights will be turned off again after the festival of the Three Kings. (Epiphany) which is January 6th.  This is the tradional day that the children are supposed to be given their Christmas presents and not Christmas Day!

More than thirty floats take part in the traditional Cavalcade of the Three Kings, in the course of which toys and sweets are thrown to the crowds eagerly lining the route. The Kings later greet the public from the balcony of the Town Hall.

The two main areas are: -

1. Plaza de la Reina which has the Christmas crafts market - good for souvenirs and local delicacies.
   
2. Plaza de Ayuntamento which has the main Nativity Scene.
