New route planned from Valencia Airport Spain to New York!

On the Ecademy Spain site we have been having a good old debate over Ryanair closing its base in Valencia, although it now turns out it was just a winter thing and it reopens in March for the summer. (I bet they sneak a few flights in for the international friendly between England and Spain at the Mestalla in February too).

However, the good news for Valencians is that you may not now be able to fly to centres of civilization like the East Midlands, some place about 50 km from Rome or even Dublin but you can now get to New York. The four times a week flights will be starting in June next year and they are direct. As I am currently having trouble finding a flight direct to Asturias from Valencia for my daughter over the New Year this is a major step forward.

Clickair is also in negotiations to take over the routes suspended by Ryanair. As Clickair is very highly thought of by those who have flown them from Valencia. Let's hope they get the authorisation to do so.
