More than 10 million Euros of Fallas went up in flames last night

20 March 2009

Description:

The Fallas of Valencia are over for another year and more than 10 million Euros of Fallas went up in flames last night in Valencia Spain.

They burnt 762 Fallas monuments that cost 10.64 million Euros in what is called in Valenciano "la Nit de la Cremà".

First it was the turn of the infantile fallas at 10 p.m. and the very last one was the Council Fallas in front of the Town Hall of Valencia in La Plaza Ayuntiamento at 1 a.m.

The Infantile Greater fallera, Maria Berbel shed some tears when she watched her fallas monument turn to ashes.   By midnight, the fire had reduced to ashes great monuments of the city of Valencia and its metropolitan area. The great fault of Nou Campanar, that obtained this year's maximum award of the Special Section, was burned at 0,30 hours.

Grand fireworks announced the Cremà of the great fallas of the City Council with the sad look of the Greater Fallera, Marta Agustín. The fallera week has shone thanks to the good time that everyone had.  Now, the artists are already thinking about the Fallas monuments for 2010!    So have we, as the whole events list is already in our diary for 2010!
