BOAT TRIP

In Cofrentes there is a lovely boat trip of 15 km down the gorge to Cortes de Pallas and back.  It does not stop, but the scenery is stunning!  It is to be recommended, but you usually need to book by telephone. It is rare that you can get on without booking in advance!  

The trips are usually 10:00, 12:00, 16:00 & 18:00 in season.  The phone number is shown below, but it's answered in Spanish only!

How to get there

When in Confrentes go downhill to the river in a northerly direction, away from the nuclear power station. Immediately over the river, turn right.  About 4 KM is an area where the trip starts with car park and toilets. You have to ask at the caravan for the key.  You pay at the caravan or the hut, depending which is open.

Routes to Cofrentes (Depends where you live, but this is based on living near Valencia)

Getting there from Buñol on the Valencia/Madrid Auotovia.

This stunning location is actually north of Ayora, in the Ayora valley, which is east to south east of Alcalá del Jucar, travelling down the N330 from Requena.

Country Route back via the Ayora Valley

A scenic route back is via Macastre Or, you can head off north off this to go to Macastre and pass the nuclear power station.

To get to Macastre via the scenic (and quite windy) route, just south of Ayora, head east onto the CV590 which loops back through Navarrés and Millares.  The shorter route is back up the N330 through Cofrentes, then take the first right (IT IS ON MY MAP, yours may be better!!)  which is a shorter way back to Macastre.
