Description:
Bicorp is located on a hillside between the river Friar and the "Macizo del Caroche". A natural enclave of Holly oaks and "ródenos" mixed with olive trees, almond-trees and other fruit bearing trees. Fragrant plants can also be found in a term in which it is still possible to see wild mountain goats, an animal that has occupied this territory for over thousands of years, as demonstrated in cave paintings found in some of the multiple cavities of its abrupt landscape. Art and remains demonstrate that it has always been a good place to settle, to hunt, to live or to visit, and as a result of this has been declared Patrimony to Humanity by UNESCO.
Festivities in honour of “Nuestra Señora de la Asunción”.
During the second fortnight of August, the festivities in honour of “Nuestra Señora de la Asunción” take place, in which music plays a principal role as essential component. The cavalcade, “con dos perros y seis gatas”(with two dogs and six cats), is one of the out-standing acts, though the religious services also maintain high levels of participation. The Moors and Christians parades give colour to the celebrations.
FESTIVITY IN HONOUR OF SANTA CRUZ
These festivities are at the begginning of May and are dedicated to the Patron Saints of the locality. During the celebrations, processions and sweet rolls to eat are typical.
THE BICORP ECO MUSEUM
Bicorp's Ecomuseo has a wide range of ethnological information with photographs and video, where the different local traditions, customs and crafts can be observed, as well as the different natural places and architectural monuments of the village of Bicorp.

Handicrafts
Handcraft techniques are kept alive with esparto and palm leaves as basic materials. Baskets, carpets and rustic shoes are some of the products elaborated in the municipality. A tradition making domestic soap, with oil and caustic soda has also been maintained.
Excursions and Beauty-spots
The Buitre reserve and the river Cazuma have dozens of cavities that were once used by our forefathers to represent scenes of the daily life. These examples of "Levantine" cave art, declared Patrimony to Humanity by UNESCO, are repeated throughout Bicorp, where many archaeological sites have been located. Some of them, such as "El cerro del Castillo de Ibles", next to the river Fraile, have not yet been explored, though it is known that an Iberian settlement probably existed on this site. Besides offering natural enclaves, the area has a landscape of great interest with the river Fraile, the Caroig peak or the Gola Lucino, birthplace of the river Cazuma. The municipality has short trekking tour routes, 5 on foot and 2 by bicycle.
Gastronomy
The quality of the ingredients used as a base to Bicorp's cuisine often means that, on occasions, a long elaboration period is unnecessary. Barbecued meat, "gazpacho manchego", "muches" and the "mojete arriero" are the most typical dishes, whilst sweet dishes include "brazo de gitano", "pastissos de boniato" (sweet potato), "monas de Pascua" and rolls, shared out at the festivities in honour of the Santa Cruz.
Big or small, urban, rural or set in picturesque tourist locations, the restaurants of the region of Valencia have a well deserved reputation for good food, based on a large variety of dishes, made carefully and from fresh produce of excellent quality.
