Description:
The Fallas Celabrations in Valencia City Spain. The celebrations start from the 1st March and build up until the 19th March, the day of St. Jose, the patron saint of carpenters.
Every day from the 1st March at 2 p.m. in the Town Hall Square (Plaza La Ayuntiemento) are held the Mascleta. The Mascleta lasts between 5 to 10 minutes and are very loud fireworks that day by day seem to get louder. On Valencia TV (Chanel 9) they have a Decibel Meter to show how loud it is and some of the local bars in the Valencian Towns have their TV on this station every lunch time and very loud!
From 15th March the streets of Valencia will be taken over by ninots or papier-mâché figures and Fallas monuments at the Plantà, which marks the start of the week-long Fallas celebrations in 2010.
Dazzling light and gunpowder, noise and music transform the city into a unique and surprising place. Don't miss out on one of the most incredible spectacles in the world and discover the architecture and traditions of the city that lovingly prepares and eagerly anticipates these celebrations all year long.
