Wendy's Whinge - It’s that time of year again. FREE holidays for everyone!

Yep it's that time of year again. It’s June! It’s hot! And its time for all your friends and family to book their FREE 2 weeks, full board holidays to Spain.

And let's face it, we love them and miss them when they're not here, but god, they can be annoying when they are here.

I first published my thoughts on this subject last year in Britchat Magazine and having spent the last few weeks playing chauffeur, chef and maid to some friends from the UK, I have decided to dig those thoughts out, dust them down and re-publish them here on my blog!!

On a positive side, your social life takes a jump into the atmos. Meals out, sight seeing, parties, girly shopping, clubbing. It's also a good excuse to get hubbie to finish all of those little jobs around the house and garden.

However on the negative side…… Why does it cost us a fortune when we haven't even left our house? Why is each day a never ending cycle of cooking, drinking and food shopping? Why do they seem to eat more than us? Why does my house feel like it's shrunk? Why are our animals more badly behaved? Why does everyone want to shower when I do? Why is the toilet seat always up when I go to the bathroom? Why is there always toothpaste glob around my sink? Why do they leave their wet towels on the floor? Why don't they go out so I can sit on the loo in peace? Why can't they make their own cup of tea in the morning? Why do they feel the need to tell me when they’ve done the washing up? Why don't they buy their own booze? Why does a BBQ have to have every kind of meat available, why can't it be just chicken, or just ribs or just sausages? Why don't they rinse off their sun lotion before getting in my pool? And why do I need a weeks holiday after they've gone?

Remind me, why will I forget all this when they email to say their coming again?
